PRB Clubs

There are many clubs you can join in Army ROTC. These clubs develop cadets both professionally and athletically for their Army career. By participating and having leadership roles in these clubs, cadets increase their ranking on the Order of Merit List (OML), and make themselves a more attractive candidate for their preferred Branch.

SOCOM IGNITE

SOCOM Ignite is a collaborative innovation program between U.S. Special Operations Command and MIT Lincoln Laboratory that brings together cadets from across the country to tackle real-world technical challenges submitted by Special Operations Forces. The program empowers future military leaders to apply their STEM education toward mission-critical problem-solving for elite units like the SEALs, Rangers, and MARSOC.

Military Science Initiative

The Military Science Initiative (MSI) is a leadership and research program that develops cadets’ professional skills through hands-on experience. Each semester, participants work in small, domain-specific teams to tackle significant challenges facing the Army, culminating in presentations to senior military officials. The program emphasizes policy research, critical thinking, and public speaking, preparing cadets to deliver clear and actionable recommendations. MSI also fosters mentorship and collaboration across class years, building strong bonds and cultivating future leaders who value humility, curiosity, and service.

Ranger Challenge

The PRB’s Ranger Challenge team forms early in the semester and trains rigorously to prepare for the 2nd Brigade competition, held yearly in October in Fort Dix. The team is a close-knit group who push each other to get better every day in the midst of training for warrior skills, endurance, strength, and mental fortitude. The yearly competition is dynamic, with changing events and complex rules requiring strategic thinking and coordination on the fly, often under physical duress. Examples of Ranger Challenge events include a team run, ruck, one-rope bridge, tactical combat casualty care, and a burden.

STEAM AHEAD

The STEAM Ahead program is a Massachusetts-based initiative that has been supporting underprivileged youth since 2018. Each spring, PRB cadets partner with the program to mentor middle and high school students through engaging activities and advice on work ethic and college readiness. This year, cadets collaborated with Boston College engineering faculty and STEAM Ahead staff to lead workshops on public speaking and communication skills. The program continues to make a strong impact on the Boston community, and PRB is excited to keep building this partnership in the future.
